The spanish feild trip.

This week the Spanish students went to a Mexican store where they bought food and/or drinks (vice versa) Senor Hensel and Senora Klinkner drove the students in mini buses. Most of the kids had bought their own money so they could get what they wanted. But they could only speak in Spanish. The main words we used were : counta questa Spanish for :how much is this lamp? (the lamp part was an example) . Trying to figure out the real part was probably the most challenging but also the most important. Because when your traveling you need to know the price otherwise you won't get it.

These past couple weeks 5th grade has been playing a Cambodian assemble. We have tested on the musical piece. We have been practicing for the assemble. here is what the piece sounds like:

5th grade band

This week we had our band concert. It was a lot of fun!!! Every part of the band got there own song. Percussion got holiday clock. Tuba's baritone's and trombones had base band rag. Trumpets had Hak'yo jung. It means the school bell is ringing. The flute's played twinkle twinkle little star. But the concert did not last long with only about 13 songs. It was very fun for all of us to be in front of a crowd. It was also very fun for our friends and family.

Today we reached our goal of 100 items for the food drive.We got 114 items now we get to have a popcorn party!!!The repasentives for our class are max and grace. All of student council had to pick up boxes and bring them down to the office to count the total of items we got for the whole school. Today is the last day to work on our keynotes.Everybody had to do one about ancient Egypt.We all got diffrent subjects for our keynote. We also had to write a paper on our subjects. The spanish kids in fifth grade are going on a field trip to a spanish market. mrs. ament's kids are going on tuesday. mrs. aldreman's class went today.we get a choice to pick out some candy or something. but we have to say it in spanish.

This week the school is collecting food for the food drive. If your class collects 100 items you get a popcorn party. So far our class is at 62 items.

The last 3 days we have had inside recess so we are very anxious to go outside.

over the weekend we had a blizzard. it made the snow very big and deep that when you step in it go's way high on you.we have to have a inside day because the temp is -8. Margaret and I were cold when we went outsides. some people could not go outside because of the blizzard.the doors were blocked by snow.the blizzard was so high.

Reasearch Reports And Einstein Problems

In fifth grade we are learning about ancient
Egypt. We are learning on how to write our
research papers on our topics. We are also doing Keynotes on our topics. Our final draft is due on December 20th. We are writing our rough draft's this week. In Mrs. Ament's math class we are working on Einstein problems. We are on level two.
