Skateville

All 5th grade patrols are super excited for skateville on Jan. 5th 2012! We will be rollerblading for 3 hours and we will probably have a blast! If we fall on our butts we will be sure to cry! They have a huge rink and we get to buy food and fun toy thingys!!!

This week we are working on our time line project. We have to compose a presentation using technology, about a leader that we chose. Some options are Powerpoint, Comic Life comic, poster, Smart Notebook, or make a voicethread. In the end we will present our project.
Also, we are learning about environments.

last week we had spring break but there is still snow!! we are almost done with our poetry unit. Mrs. Ament said that we are entering poems in a poetry contest at the Dakota County Library.
we had to fill out a sheet that has information about our selves. the mca test is coming up next month .

Literature Circles

Hola!

This week Mrs. Ament made Lit Circle groups. There are three groups, each with a different book. Within the three groups there smaller groups with a leader. The leader assigns the jobs to everyone and him/herself. The jobs are: * The Connector * The Questioner * The Summarizer
* The Word Wizard and * The Illustrator. The books we were assigned to read are: Love That Dog, Locomotion and Home of the Brave. We all really like the books so far.

Hello!
In writing we are working on poems.List poems, small things poems and objects, and a poem of your choice. A list poem is were you think of something and you list stuff. your creation can turn into a list poem!

In gym we are doing gymnastics. Like cartwheels and round offs and partner stuff. last week we tried doing pyramids with are partner and groups. we also did a class pyramid(it was not easy)
